The butterfly species forms one generation a year, whose moths fly from the beginning of June to August. The moths are crepuscular and nocturnal and are attracted by artificial light sources. The caterpillars feed on the roots of panicle grasses ( Poa ) in autumn . Then they weave a rope tube near the ground, in which they winter. The caterpillars pupate in spring.
