The Ristkalvane (Norwegian for back calves are) a small group of Nunatakkern in East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . They form the northern end of the Shcherbakov Mountains in the Orvinfjella . The Ristebrekka glacier slope lies on its south side .
They were discovered and photographed from the air during the German Antarctic Expedition in 1938/39 under the direction of polar explorer Alfred Ritscher . Norwegian cartographers, who also named them, made a map using aerial photographs and measurements made by the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960).
