Rita Pfister

Rita Pfister (born March 20, 1952 ) is a former Swiss discus thrower .

Rita Pfister joined the Winterthur Athletics Club , which in 1975 merged with the athletics section of the Stadtturnverein to form the Winterthur Athletics Association .

At the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal she was twelfth and at the European Athletics Championships 1978 in Prague eleventh.

She has been national champion eight times (1970, 1972–1976, 1978, 1979). On May 23, 1970, she set the current Swiss record, which she improved to 60.60 m by June 6, 1976 in Dortmund and which is still valid today.
