Rita Anna Angela Trapanese (born May 8, 1951 in Milan , † August 8, 2000 in Gattatico ) was an Italian figure skater who started in a single run .

Trapanese was Italian champion in figure skating for women from 1965 to 1972, making it the national record holder. She took part in all European championships from 1966 to 1972 . She won the bronze medal at the European Championships in Zurich in 1971 . It was the first medal for an Italian figure skater at European championships. She celebrated her greatest success in Gothenburg in 1972 when she was runner- up behind Beatrix Schuba . At world championships , in which she participated four times, her best result was fifth, which she achieved in 1971 . Trapanese represented Italy at two Olympic Games . In 1968 in Grenoble she finished 25th and in 1972 in Sapporo she was seventh.

Trapanese was married to Maurizio Vaglini, head of the Milan Cancer Institute. She died in a car accident.
