Career
Zac Dalpe began his career as a hockey player with the Penticton Vees, for which he was active in the Canadian junior league British Columbia Hockey League in the 2007/08 season . With his team he immediately won the championship title of the BCHL, whose Most Sportsmanlike Player he was named. In the 2008 NHL Entry Draft , he was selected in the second round as the 45th player by the Carolina Hurricanes . The center then attended Ohio State University for two years , for whose ice hockey team he played in parallel in the National Collegiate Athletic Association . In 2009 he was elected to the all-rookie team of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association and a year later to the first all-star team of the university league.
Towards the end of the 2009/10 season , Dalpe made his professional ice hockey debut for Carolina's farm team Albany River Rats , for which he played 17 games in the American Hockey League , scoring nine goals and four assists. In the 2010/11 season , the right- shooter stood in a total of 77 games for Carolina's new AHL farm team Charlotte Checkers on the ice and scored 70 points, including 29 goals. Because of his performance at the Checkers, he was elected to the AHL All-Rookie Team at the end of the season . During the season he also came to 15 appearances in the National Hockey League for the Carolina Hurricanes, scoring three goals and one assist.
On September 29, 2013, Dalpe was transferred to the Vancouver Canucks together with Jeremy Welsh , which gave Kellan Tochkin and a four-round vote in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft to the Hurricanes. He was then able to secure a regular place in the Canucks' NHL squad.
In the summer of 2014, Dalpe moved to the Buffalo Sabers and signed a one-year contract there. After this expired, he joined the Minnesota Wild in July 2015 . There he missed a large part of the service time due to injuries and switched regularly between the NHL and AHL, where he was signed by the Columbus Blue Jackets waiver in February 2017 .
