The Réding – Metz-Ville railway is a double-track electrified railway line in Lorraine in the Moselle department . The route is operated by the TER Lorraine and has line number 21.

history

The route is part of the historically important route network. It was opened between 1851 and 1877. Like the Forbacher Bahn and the Paris – Strasbourg line, it was built on two tracks. Construction began around 1851 and the last section was completed in 1877. The opening of the entire route took place on October 15, 1877. The construction cost was 8.5 million gold marks .

On weekdays nine trains run on the Réding - Rémilly - Metz route , but only some of them stop in Rémilly. There are only five to six trains on weekends . In addition, the trains on the Metz - Forbach - Saarbrücken line between Metz and Rémilly also use the route.
