Berthelming (German Bartolfingen , 1871-1916 Berthelmingen ) is a French commune with 511 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Sarrebourg-Château-Salins .

geography

Berthelming is located about ten kilometers north of Sarrebourg on the Saar at an altitude between 231 and 282 m above sea level. Most of the municipal area consists of forest.

history

The village came to France in 1766, to the German Empire from 1871 to 1918 and again to France from 1919.
