Railway network

In the area of the municipality of Imling, the direction of operation of the Strasbourg-Paris railway line will be changed between right-hand traffic (rail network in Alsace) and left-hand traffic (rail network in the French heartland). With a track overpass (called “saut de mouton” / “mutton jump” in French) one direction track is pulled over the other to change sides. This method enables a change of direction without switches.
