Tincry is a French commune with 174 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Sarrebourg-Château-Salins .

Tincry is located in the Saulnois , about 30 kilometers southeast of Metz at an altitude between 226 and 378 m above sea level. The municipality covers 8.47 km².

history

The place was first mentioned in 950 as Tinkaracha . Other spellings were: Tinkirchen (1421), Tinkeringen (1460).

The village has belonged to France since 1661 and was known as Dinkrich in 1915-18 and Dinkirchen in 1940-44 .
