Languimberg (German Langenberg ) is a French commune with 173 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ).

geography

The municipality of Languimberg is 14 kilometers west of Sarrebourg . The Étang de Gondrexange is located on the southern edge of the municipality . The municipality belongs to the Lorraine Regional Nature Park .

history

The village was German until 1681, then became part of France, became German again in 1871 and then French again in 1919. In the period from 1940 to 1944 it was again under German administration and then again under French administration.
