Oron is a French commune with 94 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Sarrebourg-Château-Salins .

Oron is located southeast of Metz in the Saulnois on the French Nied ( Nied française ) at an altitude between 234 and 302 m above sea level. The municipality covers 5.37 km².

history

The village has belonged to France since 1661 and was known as Orn in 1915-18 and Oren in 1940-44 .
