Hultehouse ( German Hültenhausen ) is a French commune with 364 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Sarrebourg-Château-Salins and the canton of Phalsbourg .

geography

The municipality of Hultehouse is located in the Vosges , on the border with the Haut-Rhin department , about six kilometers south of Phalsbourg at an altitude between 205 and 463 m above sea level. The municipality covers 4.58 km².

history

The place was first mentioned in 1146 as Hildenhusen and belonged to France from 1661, then became German again through the Peace of Frankfurt in 1871 and French again after the First World War. The region was again under German administration during the Second World War.
