Morville-sur-Nied is a French commune with 119 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Sarrebourg-Château-Salins .

geography

The municipality of Morville-sur-Nied is located in the valley of the French Nied ( Nied Française ), about 30 kilometers southeast of Metz at an altitude between 227 and 271 m above sea level. The municipality covers 5.64 km². The high-speed line LGV Est européenne touches the north of the municipality.

history

The village has belonged to France since 1661 and carried the German name Morsweiler an der Nied from 1915-18 and 1940-44 .
