Bourscheid ( German : Burscheid ) is a French commune with 179 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Sarrebourg-Château-Salins and the canton of Phalsbourg .

geography

The municipality of Burscheid is about twelve kilometers northeast of Sarrebourg and five kilometers west of Phalsbourg . The Phalsbourg-Bourscheid military airfield is located in the municipality .

history

The place was first mentioned in 712 as Parssonevilla and belonged to France from 1661, then became German again through the Peace of Frankfurt in 1871 and French again after the First World War. The region was again under German administration during the Second World War.
