Givrycourt is a French commune with 88 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Sarrebourg-Château-Salins .

geography

The municipality of Givrycourt is five kilometers east of Albestroff in the immediate vicinity of the municipality of Munster . The municipality is part of the Lorraine Regional Nature Park .

history

The village was called la Hampatte until the 18th century and carried the German name Hampat from 1915-18 and Gierenhofen from 1940-44 . From 1973 to 1998 Givrycourt was part of the municipality of Albestroff .
