Vaxy (German 1915-18 Wastingen , 1940-44 Wessingen ) is a French commune with 166 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Sarrebourg-Château-Salins .

history

The place was first mentioned in 775 as Vastingas , 1469 as Wechsingen and 1528 as Wessingen . Since 1661 the place belongs to France.
