Puzieux is a French commune with 187 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Sarrebourg-Château-Salins .

geography

Puzieux is located southeast of Metz in the Saulnois at an altitude of between 207 and 401 m above sea level. The municipality covers 6.27 km².

history

The name of the village is derived from the Gallo-Roman puteolus ( small spring ). The village was destroyed and abandoned in the Thirty Years War . In 1661 the area came to France and Puzieux was rebuilt and repopulated in the 18th century.

1915-18 and 1940-44 it had the Germanized name Püschingen .
