Mulcey is a French commune with 211 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region ( Lorraine until 2015 ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Sarrebourg-Château-Salins .

The municipality of Mulcey is located on the upper Seille , west of the Linderweiher (Étang de Lindre) at an altitude between 201 and 307 m above sea level. The 8.34 km² large municipality is part of the Lorraine Regional Nature Park .

history

The village was temporarily imperial property in the Middle Ages and was mentioned as Milzeche in 1191 , then Miltzingen (1478). 1915-18 and 1940-44 it bore the Germanized name Milzingen .
