Guébestroff (German Gebesdorf ) is a French commune with 48 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Sarrebourg-Château-Salins .

geography

The municipality of Guébestroff is located in the Saulnois , immediately north of Dieuze at an altitude between 209 and 333 m above sea level. The municipal area covers 3.81 km².

history

The village was owned by the Vergaville Monastery in the Middle Ages and was completely destroyed during the Thirty Years War . After the peace treaty , only four families lived in the village in 1650. Since the reconstruction and resettlement, Guébestroff has been francophone .
