Neufvillage is a French commune with 36 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Sarrebourg-Château-Salins .

geography

Neufvillage is located on the Albe tributary of the Moselle , three kilometers northeast of Bénestroff and 20 kilometers south of Saint-Avold . With an area of ​​0.61 km², Neufvillage is one of the smallest municipalities in France.

history

The village was founded in the early 16th century. In the Thirty Years War it was destroyed and abandoned and rebuilt until 1666 and repopulated.

1915–1918 it had the Germanized name Neudörfel , 1940–1944 Neudorf an der Albe .
