Troisfontaines (German Dreibrunnen ) is a French commune with 1272 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Sarrebourg-Château-Salins and the canton of Phalsbourg .

geography

Troisfontaines is located in the Bièvre valley in the foothills of the northern Vosges , about nine kilometers south-east of Sarrebourg .

history

The village belonged to France from 1661, from 1871 to 1919 and during the Second World War it was under German administration.

One of the first watch glass factories in Europe was built in the Vallérysthal district between 1830 and 1840 .
