Manhoué is a French commune with 142 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Sarrebourg-Château-Salins .

geography

Manhoué is twelve kilometers west of Château-Salins on the Seille at an altitude between 190 and 271 m above sea level. In Manhoué, the Seille describes a two-kilometer-long loop of the river extending to the west . The 4.1 km² area borders on the Meurthe-et-Moselle department .

history

The village was completely destroyed in the Thirty Years War and rebuilt in another place. 1915-18 and 1940-44 it had the Germanized name Manwald .
