Bébing ( German Bebing , 1940-44 Bebingen ) is a French commune with 201 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Sarrebourg-Château-Salins and the canton of Sarrebourg .

geography

Bébing is located about five kilometers west of Sarrebourg at an altitude between 258 and 324 m above sea level. The municipality covers 9.57 km².

The two hamlets in the north of Rinting ( Rintingen ) and Misselhoff ( Misselhof ) also belong to the community .

history

The village was first mentioned as Bubing in 1121 . The village was German until 1661, then became part of France, became German again in 1871 and then French again in 1919. In the period from 1939 to 1945 it was again under German administration and then again under French administration.
