Henridorff (German Heinrichsdorf ) is a French commune with 701 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Sarrebourg-Château-Salins .

geography

The municipality of Henridorff, a street village , is located about twelve kilometers east of Sarrebourg on the edge of the Vosges at an altitude between 215 and 367 m above sea level. The Rhine-Marne Canal forms the south-western border of the municipality.

history

The place was founded in 1614 by the then Duke of Lorraine (Henry II. The Good) as Henry-Dorff and belonged to France from 1661, then became German again through the Peace of Frankfurt in 1871 and French again after the First World War. The region was again under German administration during the Second World War.
