Brouviller ( German Brauweiler ) is a French commune with 427 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Sarrebourg-Château-Salins and the canton of Phalsbourg .

Brouviller is located about nine kilometers northeast of Sarrebourg at an altitude between 268 and 348 m above sea level. The municipal area covers 11.24 km².

history

The place belonged to France from 1661, then became German again through the Peace of Frankfurt in 1871 and French again after the First World War. The region was again under German administration during the Second World War.
