The municipality of Fresnes-en-Saulnois is located in Saulnois , five kilometers west of Château-Salins at an altitude between 243 and 336 m above sea level. The municipality covers 12.89 km².

history

The place has belonged to France since 1766 and carried the Germanized name Eschen from 1915-18 and 1941-44 Eschen am Wald (which referred to the neighboring urban forest of Château-Salins).
