Gosselming (German Gosselmingen ) is a French commune with 587 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Sarrebourg-Château-Salins .
geography
The municipality of Gosselming is located on the upper Saar , about eight kilometers northwest of Sarrebourg at an altitude between 232 and 285 m above sea level. The municipality covers 10.15 km².
Most of the municipal area consists of forest. The two hamlets Alsing ( Alzing ) and Bromsenhoff ( Bromsenhof ) also belong to the municipality of Gosselming .
history
The place was first mentioned in the Middle Ages as Gozhelminge and was destroyed in the Thirty Years War . In 1766 it became part of France, from 1871 to 1918 it became part of the German Empire and from 1919 back to France.
