Nébing (German until 1915 Nebing , then Nebingen ) French commune with 345 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Sarrebourg-Château-Salins .

geography

Nébing is located five kilometers southwest of Albestroff at an altitude between 227 and 296 m above sea level. The 7.36 km² municipal area is located in the Lorraine Regional Nature Park . It is on the Paris – Strasbourg railway line and has a train station there .

history

The village was completely destroyed in the Thirty Years War . In the 18th century it was also known as Nebanges .

1915 to 1918 the name of the place was Germanized in "Nebingen", the station was called "Nebingen (Lothr.)".
