Ley is a French commune with 97 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Sarrebourg-Château-Salins .

The municipality of Ley is located halfway between Nancy and Sarrebourg , about ten kilometers southeast of Vic-sur-Seille in Saulnois at an altitude between 202 and 264 m above sea level. The municipality covers 6.13 km².

history

In the Middle Ages the village was called Laar in German . 1940–1944 it bore the Germanized name Leyen .
