Sykkylven is a place and a municipality in the Norwegian Fylke Møre og Romsdal . The administrative center of the municipality is Sykkylven. Another great place is Ikornnes . Sykkylven is Norway's furniture municipality , here you can find the furniture manufacturers Ekornes , Hjellgjerde and Lk Hjelle , among others . Sykkylven set the record for the longest sofa in the world in summer 2009 - a total of 860 meters long sofa was installed on the Sykkylvsbrücke.

The municipality, including the Storfjord , extends from north to south 26.9 kilometers (only land 25.5 km) and from east to west 27.3 kilometers (only land 24.4 km).

The highest elevation is the 1586 meter high Råna , the largest water area in the inland is 2.32 square kilometers of the Nysætervatnet . The Velledalen can also be found in the municipality .

Neighboring municipalities are Ålesund , Fjord , Stranda , Ørsta and Sula .
