Gjemnes is a Norwegian municipality in the province ( Fylke ) Møre og Romsdal . The administrative seat is in Batnfjordsøra.

Neighboring municipalities are Kristiansund , Tingvoll , Molde , Hustadvika and Averøy .
Economy and Transport
The paint manufacturer Gjøco A / S is based in Torvikbukt . Gjøco A / S has the second largest market share in interior paints in Norway. There is also a furniture factory in Gjemnes municipality .
Moreover, agriculture is an important industry. In recent years, however, many farms have been given up because often no one in the farmers' families wants to take over the farm.
Tourism is also an important source of income for the region.
