Tingvoll is a village in Norway and the capital of a municipality of the same name .
Geography and traffic
Tingvoll is located in Fylke Møre og Romsdal between the Halsafjord and the Tingvollfjord . In addition to Tingvoll, the municipality also includes Meisingset and Staumsnes (which was the capital of a municipality of the same name from 1866 to 1964) as well as some smaller settlements.
By Tingvoll leading national route 70, Kristiansund with Sunndalsøra and Oppdal connects. In addition, the European route 39 leads through the municipality of Tingvoll and over the island of Aspøy , which belongs to Tingvoll ; it connects Molde with Trondheim , but is interrupted between Kanestraum and Heim , where a ferry crosses the Halsafjord.
Neighboring municipalities are (clockwise from the north) Aure , Heim , Umgebung , Sunndal , Molde , Gjemnes and Kristiansund .

- Rock paintings near Hindhammar : About 7 km southeast of Tingvoll, near the road to Ormset, you will find rock paintings that are said to be around 5000 years old.
- Tingvoll Bygdemuseum: The local history museum is located in the village of Tingvoll. It is designed as a museum village with a mill and sawmill and belongs to the Nordmøre Museum in Kristiansund .
