Sande is a municipality in the Norwegian fylke Møre og Romsdal . The administrative center of the municipality is Larsnes.
geography
The municipality with mountains up to 708 meters ( Koftehorn ) is located in the south of the Fylke and borders the Atlantic Ocean in the northwest . Sande extends from north to south over the associated Rovedefjorden by 18.8 kilometers and from east to west by 23.67 kilometers. Until December 31, 2001 the area was 136 square kilometers, now only 91 square kilometers. The largest islands in the municipality are Sandsøya with 12 and Kvamsøy 7.5 square kilometers.
The neighboring municipalities of Sande are Herøy , Vanylven , and in the neighboring Fylke Vestland the municipality of Selje .
