Culture and sights
In many villages in Lorraine, the population still speaks French and German. This is also advantageous for Langatte with a view to tourism. The first language, however, is always French.
Economy and Infrastructure
Langatte has become a popular holiday destination for campers and families in recent years. The "Center Bien-être" (thermal bath), which opened in the 2010s, and the numerous log cabins of all comfort classes on the campsite at the Etang du Stock underline this development. Langatte is best reached via the mostly 4 lane N4 that connects Strasbourg to Paris via Nancy (N333). Strasbourg is about 75 km to the east, Nancy about 75 km to the west and Saarbrücken about 75 km to the north of Langatte. The nearest train station for the French Railways (SNCF) is in Sarrebourg 7 km away. The Canal de la Sarre (Saar Canal) quasi crosses the Etang du Stock and flows about 15 km south into the Rhine-Marne Canal. The Saar Canal is no longer of economic importance today, but it also contributes to the tourist revitalization of this region and is particularly interesting for cycle tourists and houseboat vacationers .
