Salonnes is a French commune with 189 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ).

The municipality of Salonnes is located southeast of Metz on the Seille in Saulnois .

The hamlet of Haute-Burthécourt (1915-18 Ober-Bürthenhofen / 1940-44 Bürthenhofen ) also belongs to Salonnes . Nearby is the Château de Burthécourt .

history

The place was first mentioned in 777 and is named after the salt mining that has been practiced in the area since ancient times. 1915-18 and 1940-44 the place had the Germanized name Salzdorf .
