history

Kyenberg was first mentioned in a document in 1361 and belonged to the Hohenfurth monastery .

After the removal of patrimonial Kienberg became an independent municipality, which did not include the districts on the right of the Vltava. Kienberg 1st part was part of Minichschlag and Kienberg 2nd part belonged to Schönfelden.

The village gained importance through the Moldau mill built between 1885 and 1886 by Ernst Porák from Trautenau , which became one of the largest Bohemian paper mills . After expansion, the Porák brothers built another cardboard factory with a power station and wood grinding shop on the opposite bank of the Vltava in St. Prokop in 1901. For the removal of the products, the Porák brothers and the abbot of Hohenfurth monastery were involved in building a connecting line to Zartlesdorf on the Budweis - Linz line . Construction began in 1909 and was completed in 1911, and on December 17 the electric railway from Zartlesdorf via Hohenfurth to the Lippnerschwebe was put into operation .

After the Second World War, the factory owners were expropriated; it passed into state ownership. Loučovice was part of the Bolechy municipality at that time. In the course of the erection of the Iron Curtain, the municipal seat was moved to Loučovice; In 1951, the Bolechy commune was renamed Loučovice.
