history

The village of Heuraffel was created in 1357 around two Paulaner and Antoniter hermitages . In 1385 the church was built for the Paulans by the brothers Peter II and Johann I von Rosenberg . In 1491 the two monasteries were merged into one. In 1515 the church was rebuilt and after 1550 the monastery was given up. From 1622 the village belonged to the princes of Eggenberg . From 1719 the princes of Schwarzenberg were the landlords. Since 1785 Heuraffl, which had previously been parish to Friedberg , had its own rectory with an attached school. The place that belonged to the Krummau rulership was called "lordly prince Krummauisch Heuraffl" until 1826 and has since been called the Vorder Heuraffl. A year later, the smaller Hohenfurth Heuraffl belonging to the Hohenfurth monastery was called Hinter Heuraffl.

In 1840 the Dominikaldorf Vorder-Heuraffel consisted of 55 houses with 482 German-speaking residents. A Dominikal mill was operated on Heuraffler Bach, and there was also a princely forest keeper's house in the village. The owner of the Jesuit forest east of the village was the city of Krumau , where a municipal forest keeper's house was located. The inhabitants lived from farming, cattle breeding, bleaching and trading. The vicarage was Hinter-Heuraffel. Until the middle of the 19th century, Vorder-Heuraffel remained subject to the allodial rule of Krumlov.

After the abolition of patrimonial , Vorder Heuraffl / Hejrov formed a community in the judicial district of Hohenfurth from 1849 with the districts of Kapellner Waldhäuser, Lindner Waldhäuser, Multerberger Waldhäuser and Hinter Heuraffl / Zadní Hejrov . From 1868 the village belonged to the Kaplitz district . The Czech place name was changed to Přední Výtoň in 1924 . In 1930, 1004 people lived in Vorder Heuraffl including its districts; in 1939 the community had 1121 inhabitants. As a result of the Munich Agreement , Vorder Heuraffl was annexed to the German Reich in 1938 and belonged to the Kaplitz district until 1945 . A few days after the German invasion, the Hohenfurt Cistercian P. Engelbert Blöchl, who was pastor of Heuraffl, was arrested by the National Socialists . He died on November 1, 1942 of starvation and abuse in the Dachau concentration camp .

After the Second World War, the Germans were expelled in 1946 and the Austrians were evacuated in 1949. In 1947 only 183 people lived in Přední Výtoň. The places in the border area were declared a restricted area after 1950, the entire German Reichenauer valley was cleared and the village of Pasečná with all its districts demolished. The same thing happened with the construction of the Iron Curtain with Hinter Heuraffl, the Kapellner forest houses and the Lindner forest houses. After the Okres Kaplice was abolished, the municipality was assigned to the Okres Český Krumlov in 1961.

The lower locations of Přední Výtoň fell victim to the construction of the Vltava reservoir. After the Velvet Revolution, the restricted area was reopened. The church of St. Thoma in the Bohemian Forest , deprived of its furnishings , was restored and consecrated again in 1995.
