history
Rosental was founded in the course of the colonization of the Bohemian Forest foothills and was first mentioned on May 23, 1259 in a document issued in Moldautein by the Prague bishop Johann , when he confirmed the patronage of the church of Rosenthal donated by Wok von Rosenberg to the Hohenfurth monastery . It was owned by the Rosenbergs , who raised it to a media town in 1380 .
In 1420 the Hussites passed under Chval von Machovice and camped on the Žižkův kopec. Silver mining began in the St. Andreas mine around 1550.
A brewery existed in the town until the 20th century.
