history

The first news about the place Chlumecz comes from the year 1445. After the replacement of patrimonial Chunzen became part of the community of Unterbreitenstein in 1850 . In 1924 the villages of Chlumec and Krnín broke away from Dolní Třebonín and formed the new municipality of Chlumec, which at that time had 64 inhabitants. During the German occupation, Chunzen was again incorporated into Unterbreitenstein in 1942, and after the end of the Second World War, its own local administration was formed again. In 1950, Chlumec and Krnín together had 81 inhabitants. In 1963 it was incorporated into Záluží. By 1970 the number of residents of Chlumec and Krnín sank to 71. Together with Záluží, Chlumek then became a district of Dolní Třebonín. Since 1990 the community has been independent again.
