Manor Benkendorf
The manor Benkendorf , also Benkendorf Castle, is a listed building in the district of Benkendorf of the municipality of Teutschenthal in the Saalekreis in Saxony-Anhalt . In the local register of monuments , the manor is listed as a monument under registration number 094 55157 . It has the address Rosa-Luxemburg-Straße 9 .
history
The oldest part of the manor can be traced back to 1769. Extensive renovations and extensions to the building in the neo-renaissance style took place in the 19th century. At that time it was owned by the von Krosigk family . The last owners were expropriated with the land reform in the Soviet occupation zone in 1945 and then stood empty for several years. It was later used as a senior citizens' home until it moved to a building on the manor's yard. Except for a few rooms that are still used by the retirement home, the building is empty again.

The manor is a small three-wing complex with two floors and a mansard hipped roof and large dwelling houses .
The building is located in a landscaped park that borders a pond in the northeast.
The manor served as the backdrop for the television series Zorn .
