Street front to Hannoversche Strasse

On the northeastern outskirts of Gestorf there is said to have been a moated castle in earlier times . There are no documentary references to it, so it is not known when or by whom it was built. Located on the "Red Beeke," a section of the Gestorfer Bach , preferred site was the latest by the Thirty Years' War to the deserted village become.

In Gestorf's church records, which have been preserved since 1673 , the residents of the Rotebeeken-Hof are described as living “in the castle”. Some pews were also registered in the register as "belonging to the castle". On a map of the village of Gestorf drawn before 1780, the buildings of the courtyard were referred to as "the castle".

The “castle” was probably owned by the von Ilten family from around 1450 . In 1778 the Hofrat von Rühling bought the saddle-free "Burghof". In 1782 he received approval to unite the castle with the Vollmeierhof Vinthushof, which he already owned .

In 1808, the Barsinghausen bailiff Reinecke acquired the property and later bequeathed it to his son Philipp . After 1840 a Herr von Linsingen bought the farm. He obtained the conversion to a manor. The manor later came into the possession of the von Jeinsen family .

To distinguish it from the two manors already existing in Gestorf, the property on the Rotebeeke is referred to as manor III .

description

Manor of the manor

The manor III is located on the northeastern edge of Gestorf at Hannoversche Strasse 42-44 . The elongated, rectangular farm yard is shielded from the street by two farm buildings attached to one another. These were built around 1800 in wall stud construction made of half-timbered with plastered partitions.

The manor house on the west side of the property was built around 1800 as a single-storey wall stud construction on a solid base. Around 1860 it was extended to a two-story building under a half-hipped roof. This is also where the asymmetrical window axes seen on the eastern side of the eaves come from. The west facade and the square compartments on the other sides are plastered in white. The external wall studs on the ground floor support the upper floor via volute-like projecting consoles . The entrance with a staircase in front is in the middle on the east side.

The south side of the farm yard is bounded by a large double barn with plastered partitions built in the middle of the 19th century.
