In the first half of the 19th century, Pölzig was owned by the brothers Prince Ernst and Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha .

The development

Several fires around 1895 destroyed farm buildings and a mausoleum with a semicircular altar niche . In 1936 the castle tower was blown up and the castle walls were torn down except for the ground floor that is still present today. The hereditary funeral was canceled three years later .

The expropriation

In 1945 the property was expropriated as part of the land reform . The mansion was demolished. The farm buildings, the manor barn and the brewery were demolished.
