RiverRun International Film Festival
The RiverRun International Film Festival is a regional film festival in the United States.
First held in 1998, the film festival takes place every fall in Winston-Salem , North Carolina . The name comes from the French Broad River near Brevard , where the festival was originally held. In 2003 it was relocated to Winston-Salem. International independent films and works by young directors will be shown.
In 2008 the German-Turkish film On the Other Side by Fatih Akin won the main jury competition. The script and its leading actress Hanna Schygulla also received awards .
