Riyanti Djalante (* around 1977 in Kendari ) is an Indonesian climate scientist. She deals with resilience and global change .

Life

Djalante graduated from the University of New South Wales with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering in 2000 . She graduated from the University of Queensland with a Masters Degree in Project Management in 2006 and completed her PhD in Human Geography from Macquarie University in 2014 . Act

In the debate about the climate crisis , Djalante points out that the effects of climate disasters on local societies are increasing; her research therefore aims to understand the vulnerability of these societies and how states and communities can be made more resilient. Her research focuses on issues of sustainable development , environmental governance, reducing the risk of disasters and adapting to climate change .

Djalante was repeatedly involved in internationally outstanding reports. She was one of the authors of the United Nations' Sixth Global Environment Outlook . She was also one of the authors of the special report 1.5 ° C global warming published by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in 2018 . She is currently working on the IPCC's Sixth Assessment Report , which is scheduled for publication in 2021.
