Roßalm (Chiemgau)

The Roßalm is an alpine pasture in the Sachrang part of the municipality of Aschau im Chiemgau . The Roßalm is considered the highest alpine pasture in the Chiemgau .

One of the Roßalm buildings is a listed building and is entered in the Bavarian list of monuments under the number D-1-87-114-132 .

Building description

The listed alpine hut on the Roßalm, the so-called Haiderkaser, is a single-storey fracked roof building with quarry stone masonry and a wooden extension that was built in the first half of the 19th century.

Other buildings are the Neue Kaser . This was built after two dilapidated huts were demolished in 1950 and 1951. After the residential part had been built between 1951 and 1954, the stable part was completed in 1961. There is an additional barn next to the new barracks.

Todays use

The Roßalm is bumped and served from the end of May to the end of September. Overnight stays are not offered.

The Roßalm is located in the Geigelstein area north below the Roßalpenkopf at an altitude of 1680  m above sea level. NN .
