Roßhof is a single farm in Roßdorf in the Schmalkalden-Meiningen district in Thuringia .

location

South of Roßdorf, past the Seegrube , which is only filled with water in spring, you reach the Roßhof on a well-developed path after about three kilometers. It is halfway under the 702 meter high Roßberg . From there you can see the Stoffelskuppe and the Pless .

history

The Roßhof was first mentioned in a document in 1418 as Kohlbachshof . The Roßhof was a preliminary work of the estate in Roßdorf and was also managed by the state-owned estate . The farm, built for agricultural purposes, also had a residential building. This has meanwhile been set up by the municipality as a hiking bar, because the municipality is now the owner of the farm.
