Roar in Six Flags Discovery Kingdom ( Vallejo , California , USA ) was a wooden roller coaster manufactured by Great Coasters International that opened on May 14, 1999. It was closed on August 16, 2015 to make way for the Joker roller coaster .

On the 1,003 m long stretch, which reached a height of 29 m, 22 crossings and a 61 m long covered tunnel were built. After the 26 m long first descent , the trains reached a top speed of 82 km / h.

Roar was almost identical to Roar in Six Flags America , but with the differences that the train in Discovery Kingdom had a different beginning of the lift hill, another hill in the tunnel and another hill before the final brake. It was also made smaller with tighter curves than the version in Six Flags America. This resulted in stronger lateral g-forces and an increased perception of speed.

Trains

Roar owned two Millennium Flyer trains with twelve cars each. Two people (one row) could sit in each car. This track was the first to be equipped with the Millennium Flyer trains, which made it possible to drive the tight radii of the curves.
