Jack and Jill vs. the World is an American - Canadian comedy film from the year 2008 . Directed by Vanessa Parise , who also wrote the script, co-produced the film and took on one of the roles.

action

30-year-old advertising manager Jack lives in New York City . He is considered successful, but is bored. He gets to know Jill and is fascinated by her from the first encounter. They get closer and it doesn't take long for Jill to move into Jack's comfortable bachelor apartment. Both of them quickly notice fundamental differences in their lifestyle. While Jack leads a successful life, Jill is the spontaneous and simple soul who seeks daily happiness. She is committed to animal welfare, drinks Fairtrade coffee and messes up Jack's orderly life. In order for their coexistence to work, Jack and Jill work out a list of the rules by which they want to live. First and foremost in their manifesto is honesty. But Jill also wants her life to be a fairy tale and that she could stop time.

Jack soon notices that his girlfriend occasionally disappears without explanation. He investigates and finds that Jill is seriously ill ( cystic fibrosis ). Angry, he accuses her of dishonesty and ends the relationship. But it doesn't take long and he has to realize how much he misses it. She also messed up his professional life, but also inspired him. The way he does advertising has changed since Jill first appeared and suddenly no longer satisfies him. Jack starts looking for her and finds out Jill's friend Lucy that Jill allegedly left New York and took a bus to Los Angeles . He quits his job and wants to follow Jill. However, unexpectedly she suddenly stands in front of him. Jill had noticed how much Jack had changed and added one unnoticed to her rules: Always be ready to face your mistakes. Both apologize to each other and they make up.
