Robert Lionell Lovejoy III (born October 23, 1991 in Greensboro , North Carolina ) is an American football player in the position of a striker .
Career
Youth and amateur football
Lovejoy spent his entire college career at the University of North Carolina . During that time he played 71 games for his college team, scoring 20 goals and preparing 16 more. At the same time he also played in the highest amateur league in the USA , the USL Premier Development League for the Carolina Dynamo's .
Club career
On January 15, 2015, he was chosen as the 15th pick in the second round of the 2015 MLS SuperDraft by the Houston Dynamos , with whom he signed a professional contract a month later. He made his competitive debut on March 13, 2015 in the 1-0 loss to Orlando City .
