Rob Malda
Rob Malda (born May 10, 1976 ), also known as CmdrTaco , is an American web author and the founder of the Slashdot website .
He graduated from Hope College . His pseudonym comes from the book by Dave Barry ( Claw Your Way to the Top: How to Become the Head of a Major Corporation in Roughly a Week , ISBN 0-87857-652-5 ). Commander Taco is the last entry on a list of bad restaurants for business lunches.
Malda writes a monthly computer column for computer power users . Malda's description of Apple's then-new iPod is still used today to illustrate Slashdot's techno elite with ordinary computer users. Back then he wrote about the iPod: “No wireless. Less space than a Creative NOMAD. Lame. "(In German, for example:" No WLAN . Less space than a Creative NOMAD . Lahm. ")
